The University of Arizona Alumni Association and the UA Parents & Family Association invite alumni and their Wildcat students to the annual Legacy Luncheon on Saturday, October 17, 2009. This Wildcat for Life tradition has been a part of Family Weekend for a number of years and continues to grow. At the Legacy Lunch special ceremony, alumni parents pass a UA lapel pin to their child, now attending the UA. Arizona alumna and Vice President of Student Affairs, Melissa Vito, is the luncheon keynote speaker. Vito's twin sons are UA freshmen.

The UA Science Center is developing a new technology for learning online. It is called Zonebee. Karen Spear Ellinwood, research and content manager for Zonebee, and Giovanni Battistini, director of technology, invite UA alumni to participate in research on the newly released beta version of Zonebee. The software, along with updates and support throughout the study, will be provided free of charge to participants. Participants do not have to be an expert with computers or the internet.
Research has demonstrated that increased metacognitive awareness in learning can help us achieve our goals and improve the way we learn. We are designing Zonebee to promote metacognitive awareness and to personalize learning by taking into account the user's interests and expertise.
If you would like to volunteer or learn more about this work, please contact Karen Spear Ellinwood at 520-829-0749 or kse@email.arizona.edu.
