Egypt — famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world’s most famous monuments — is a region filled with fascinating history, culture, and tradition.
See modern-day Egypt, set against the background of 5,000 years of history, starting with guided tours of the capital city, Cairo. Visit the Sphinx, the Great Pyramids, and the seaport of Alexandria. Travel to Memphis to see the statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. Then fly to Luxor, where you’ll board the Royal Lotus for a three-night Nile River cruise. Highlights include the Luxor and Karnak monuments, the Temple of Amon Ra, Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, and the Temple of Horus. In Aswân, take a motorboat to the Temple of Isis and enjoy a felucca ride across the Nile. From Aswân, take a day trip to view the sandstone temples of Abu Simbel. Finally, return to Cairo, with time to enjoy an optional Nile River dinner cruise.
