Join tour director Manuel Rentería, a favorite among our travelers, for an exclusive journey into colonial Mexico. You’ll delight in your lodgings — restored, elegantly appointed haciendas! As you trace the Route of Independence in Mexico’s heartland, you’ll visit the best Mexican colonial cities starting with Guanajuato. Known for its wealth of fine colonial-era Spanish architecture, Guanajuato is located in one of the richest silver-mining areas in Mexico. The journey moves to San Miguel de Allende — the birthplace of Mexican independence — and the city of Morelia, which boasts some 200 historic buildings. The final leg of the tour takes travelers to flamboyant Guadalajara — one of Mexico’s principal centers of architecture, culture, history, and economy. The tour includes eight nights hotel accommodations and transfers, all travel within Mexico, all excursions mentioned in the itinerary, plus seven breakfasts, five lunches, and two dinners.
