Alan L. Boeckmann

As the chair of the board and chief executive officer of Fluor Corporation, Alan L. Boeckmann heads one of the world’s leading and largest engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance services companies.

Boeckmann graduated from The University of Arizona with a degree in electrical engineering. Since joining Fluor in 1974 as an engineer, he has held various management positions, including assignments in California, Texas, South Carolina, South Africa, and Venezuela.

Prior to assuming his current position in 2002, Boeckmann served as president and chief operating officer of Fluor, president and chief executive officer of Fluor Daniel, the engineering and construction unit of Fluor Corporation, and president of Fluor Daniel Energy & Chemicals group, Fluor Daniel Chemicals, Plastics & Fibers operating company, and the Chemical Processes & Industrial business group. He previously served as vice president of the company’s business unit that formed its DuPont alliance and as the leader of engineering.

Active in a variety of business and professional organizations, Boeckmann serves as a director on the boards of the American Petroleum Institute, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, National Petroleum Council, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business. He is a member of the Business Roundtable, the World Economic Forum, and the University of Arizona College of Engineering Industry Advisory Council.

 

Robert N. Shelton

Dr. Robert N. Shelton leads The University of Arizona in advancing its standing as one of the country’s top public research universities while increasing diversity and ensuring that the UA is accessible to Arizona students, particularly first-generation college students.

Shelton earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at San Diego.

At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Shelton was executive vice chancellor and provost and the chief academic and chief operating officer. He served on the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of the Research Triangle Institute and on the boards of the Triangle Research Libraries Network, Triangle Universities Center for Advanced Studies, and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.

Shelton, also a professor of physics at the UA, studies collective electron effects in novel materials. He was a guest scientist at both the Kernforschungsanlage in Jülich, Germany, and at the Institute of Metals in Tokyo. He also was a visiting professor in the Département de Physique de la Matière Condensée, at the Université de Genève in Geneva.

In addition, Shelton was a member of the Space Telescope Institute Council for the Hubble Space Telescope, and he received the coveted Student Advocate Award from the student body president at UNC Chapel Hill in 2004. vShelton and his wife of 40 years, Adrian A. Shelton, an undergraduate of Stanford and now a highly regarded research compliance officer, have three adult children.

Complimentary valet parking is available. Below are directions to the La Cima Club, including how to get to the valet parking area, as well as the West Tower Garage, where there is complimentary garage parking should you prefer that option.

The La Cima Club is located at 5215 North O’Connor Road on the 26th Floor in the center Tower of Williams Square. The Mustang Sculpture is located on the Plaza in front of the building.

Garage Parking:

Complimentary parking is available in the West Tower Parking Garage at no charge. Guests should go to garage level 5 and enter the building through the Skybridge that connects the garage to Williams Square. When the glass door is locked, you simply press the doorbell for assistance and mention to security that you are going to La Cima Club. After you enter the building, you will go down the escalator, turn left and follow the glass atrium to the center tower elevators to 26. The La Cima Club is located on the 26th floor of the center tower.
