Symphonic Choir
The Symphonic Choir is a select ensemble of 46
voices that carries on a 50-year tradition of
excellence in choral music at The University of
Arizona. The group rehearses each weekday and
performs formal concerts on campus, in the Tucson
metropolitan area, and throughout the western United
States. Students represent a broad variety of
disciplines including vocal performance, composition,
and music education as well as business, political
science, finance, engineering, theater, and science.
The repertoire embraces music from a variety of cultural
traditions and from every historical period up to
and including new works commissioned especially for
the choir. The Symphonic Choir is under the direction of
Dr. Elizabeth Schauer, Associate Director of Choral
Activities.
