Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences Council of Alumni and Friends
The Council of Alumni and Friends of the John and Doris Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences has worked diligently to make 2007-08 its most successful year.
The council’s scholarship awards reached $5,000 for the third year in a row with the assistance of matching funds from the University of Arizona Alumni Association, and the long-dreamed of Norton School facility, McClelland Park, has became a reality. Council members pledged $10,000 at a critical time to ensure winning an $800,000 challenge grant from the Kresge Foundation.
The council represents the Norton School at AdvoCAT meetings and Wildcat Pride Night, interacts with faculty and staff at the Kickoff luncheon, hosts winter and spring graduation celebrations for graduates and their families, collaborates with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Homecoming activities, and helps with CALS graduation ceremonies and the CALS Spring Awards Banquet.
For this year’s Homecoming, the council invited alumni to the 2008 Homecoming Luncheon and Awards Celebration and the McClelland Park dedication.
The generosity, dedication, and commitment of the council is apparent in all that they do.
With much gratitude for their significant contributions, we are delighted to present the Alumni Council Red and Blue Award to the Council of Alumni and Friends of the John and Doris Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences.
