College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Alumni Council
During the past year, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Alumni Council has continued its outstanding work. Along with the CALS Development and Alumni Office, the council produced two issues of Compendium, the publication that reaches more than 19,000 alumni and friends. The council also provided funding for students to participate in the Students in free Enterprise Team SIFE World Cup Competition, the New Start scholarship program, travel funds for the Pre-Veterinary Club, and the CALS undergraduate scholarship program.
Council members participated in the CALS Honors Convocation and Homecoming events, including the Touchstone Energy Ag Cat Open golf tournament, the Dean’s Almost World-Famous Burrito Breakfast, and the alumni auction. Members also attended the AdvoCATS Wildcat Pride Legislative Night, where they lobbied and distributed “A” cookies.
In addition, council members held a retirees barbecue, coordinated the annual Spring Awards Banquet, conducted spring commencement activities, and attended the National Agriculture Alumni and Development Association conference at the University of Hawaii.
