New Alumni Association President Begins his Tenure
Christopher J. Vlahos, president
and executive director of the University of Arizona Alumni Association,
began his tenure July 16, 2007. Vlahos works with
the Association’s board of directors to develop and implement a
strategic plan and he oversees the Association’s operations and fundraising. He
has strengthened collaboration with the University to engage
and support its alumni, ensuring that the Association is a viable and
important gateway to the University. Formerly the vice president of
membership and marketing at The Ohio State University Alumni Association
from 2001-2007, Vlahos was responsible for developing and executing the
Alumni Association’s marketing plans and membership campaigns, managing
revenue-generating programs, and overseeing its brand positioning.
Prior to joining the OSU Alumni Association in 2001, Vlahos was
senior vice president at Lord, Sullivan & Yoder Marketing
Communications, where he oversaw all of the firm’s media accounts. He
has also taught at the OSU School of Journalism and managed advertising
media planning for a number of regional and national corporations.
Vlahos’ 26-year professional career, devoted to the field of
marketing and strategic communications, is highlighted by nearly two
decades of corporate administration, staff training, and business
development.
A two-time graduate of OSU, Vlahos received his master’s degree in
public affairs in June, 2007. |
